Our summer program is designed specifically for kids 9-12 years old , providing a fun and safe environment for them to learn and practice yoga. Our experienced instructors use age-appropriate techniques to help children improve their overall well-being.  ​

About the event


This unique summer camp option offers Yoga, fun movement, mindfulness games/meditations, breathing exercises, and simple arts & crafts for campers aged 9-12 years old. It’s designed to engage your children in developing new skills while exploring themselves and their surroundings.

Sample Schedule:

Bridget

8:00-8:15 - arrival

8:15 - 8:30  - sharing circle

8:40 - 9:10  - Yogisays 

9:15 - 9:30 - hula hooping! 

9:35 - 9:50 - give them time to settle then, breathing 

9:55 - 10:00/10:05 - meditation

Laurie

10:10 - 10:25 -snack (Laurie comes in Bridget leaves)

10:30 - 10:35- clean up

10:40 - 11:15- YOGA

11:20 - 11:50 - simple arts & crafts

11:50 - 12:00 pick up window

Welcome to a fun, inclusive yoga program where adolescents will stretch and strengthen their bodies.


Why should your child learn yoga? 


Besides an increase in physical fitness, some of the benefits for children who practice yoga are improved concentration and behavior and an increase in self-esteem and confidence. 


Each class will begin with a short community building activity so students can get to know each other and feel comfortable. Students will learn to do basic yoga poses along with guided meditation and yoga breathing techniques. Guided meditations are a way to bring the body and mind to a place of deep relaxation. It has shown to help improve creativity and problem solving. Breath regulation techniques are fun and easy to learn. They can help your child with managing emotions and stress.



What to expect during this class:


Please arrive 5-10 minutes early and wear comfortable clothes. Yoga is done without shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a peanut-free snack.


If your child has a yoga mat they can bring it with them. If not, one will be provided during class.
