Your teacher, Bridget Iaccino:

Hi, I’m Bridget! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Family Therapist, and Teen & Middle School Support Group Facilitator! When I’m not working with families and adolescents in the clinical realm, I teach Restorative and Yin Yoga here at Pistachio Yoga. I am so excited to combine my passion for supporting adolescents and teens with yoga in our new youth yoga program! I hope to bring my enthusiasm, love for connection and community building along with my skills for interpersonal relationships to these spaces, helping teens not only connect with themselves and their bodies, but with one another!

Welcome to a fun, inclusive yoga class where adolescents in grades 6 to 9 will stretch and strengthen their bodies.

Why should your child learn yoga?

Besides an increase in physical fitness, some of the benefits for children who practice yoga are improved concentration and behavior and an increase in self-esteem and confidence.

Each class will begin with a short community building activity so students can get to know each other and feel comfortable. Students will learn to do basic yoga poses along with guided meditation and yoga breathing techniques. Guided meditations are a way to bring the body and mind to a place of deep relaxation. It has shown to help improve creativity and problem solving. Breath regulation techniques are fun and easy to learn. They can help your child with managing emotions and stress.

What to expect during this class:

Please arrive 5-10 minutes early and wear comfortable clothes. Yoga is done without shoes. Please bring a water bottle.

If your child has a yoga mat they can bring it with them. If not, one will be provided during class.
